Summary
EMC6
The prototype member of this clan is the ER membrane protein complex subunit 6 (EMC6), a member of the ER membrane protein complex (EMC), a conserved co- and post-translational insertase at the endoplasmic reticulum. EMC6 forms a hydrophilic vestibule with EMC3 subunit which provides a methionine-rich cytosolic loop required for substrate insertion. This clan also includes: Get2 from yeast, Get2-like (CAML) from mammals or EMC6-like from Archaea. They all contain three transmembrane domains.
This clan contains 4 families and the total number of domains in the clan is 3498. The clan was built by A LewisA Bateman and S Chuguransky.

Structures
For those sequences which have a structure in the Protein DataBank, we use the mapping between UniProt, PDB and Pfam coordinate systems from the MSD group, to allow us to map Pfam domains onto UniProt three-dimensional structures. The table below shows the mapping between the Pfam families in this clan, the corresponding UniProt entries, and the region of the three-dimensional structures that are available for that sequence.
